Fort Thomas prepares for Halloween house decorating contest on October 29

Sam Shelton City Administrative Assistant | City of Fort Thomas

With the arrival of autumn, Fort Thomas is gearing up for its annual Halloween House Decorating Contest. Scheduled for Tuesday, October 29, the event invites residents to transform their homes and streets into festive spectacles.

Participants can enter various categories. "Trick-or-Treat Street" encourages neighborhoods to showcase their holiday spirit through elaborate decorations. The "Spooktacular" category seeks homes that push the boundaries with ever-expanding and impressive displays each year.

In addition to judged awards, there is a "People’s Choice" category where community members can vote on Facebook for their favorite decorated house or street. The entry with the most likes and comments will be declared the winner.

The contest also features "Honorary Judge Awards," given by experienced judges who have seen numerous creative displays over the years.

Residents interested in participating or nominating others are encouraged to contact Sam Shelton via email at sshelton@ftthomas.org or by phone at (859)572-1209, providing their name, email, and house address. Judging will occur from 7-9 p.m. on October 29.
