Pumpkins are set to take center stage at the Fort Thomas Pumpkin Walk Carving Contest, which begins next week. Participants will have the opportunity to compete in five categories: Scary, Detailed, Funny, Uncarved, and Traditional.

Organizers have announced that "spooky cool awards" will be given out this year. Those interested can either pick up a pumpkin from the organizers or bring their own for carving. Completed pumpkins should be dropped off at the Armory located at 950 South Fort Thomas Avenue between Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The final submission deadline is Thursday, October 24, at 5 p.m., ahead of the judging and awards ceremony set for Friday.

Participants are encouraged to "grab your knife, paint brush, or glitter bottles and make something spectacular for the Pumpkin Walk."
