Fort Thomas Recreation opens registration for annual Turkey Trot 5k

Eric Haas Mayor | City of Fort Thomas

The Fort Thomas Recreation Department has announced the opening of registration for the annual Turkey Trot 5k. Scheduled for Thursday, November 28, at 7:30 p.m., this event aims to provide a relaxed and community-focused start to Thanksgiving.

The route begins at the Mess Hall, extends to Highlands High School, and then returns. The department emphasizes that this is a fun run without timing chips or medals, utilizing sidewalks throughout. Registration costs $5.00 and will close on Wednesday, November 27, at noon. Participants are asked to arrive by 7 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

Strollers are welcome in the event, encouraging families to participate together; however, dogs are not permitted. The goal is "to meet as a community of friends and kick off the Holiday together."

Participants must create an account in Sportsman (the registration software) before registering if they do not already have one. Family members can be registered through a 'head of household' account.
