The General Services Department has issued a reminder to residents about snow removal procedures as winter approaches. The department emphasizes that main arterial routes in the city will be prioritized for snow clearance, followed by connector streets and side streets. The priority is determined based on traffic volume.
Residents are advised that heavy snowfall may result in snowplows leaving residual snow at the entrances of private driveways and walkways. This situation is unavoidable under certain conditions.
For those who must drive during snowy weather, it is recommended to maintain a distance of at least 200 feet behind snowplow equipment. Additionally, utilizing off-street parking when possible can assist in efficient road clearing.
"Help us make sure that our general services guys can do their part to keep our roads cleared and prepped for snow," stated the department, expressing gratitude for community cooperation.
