The community is being urged to help protect local storm sewers and waterways by keeping sidewalks and streets clear of certain materials. It is emphasized that anything entering storm drains flows directly into creeks and rivers without treatment, posing a risk to the environment.

Residents are encouraged to handle yard debris such as grass clippings and leaves responsibly by mulching them back into their lawns or bagging them for proper collection. Additionally, it is important not to dump car oil and fluids in the street. Instead, used motor oil and fluids should be taken to an auto shop or hazardous waste disposal site.

Proper trash disposal is also highlighted. Residents are advised to place trash in secured bins and pick up litter around their properties to prevent it from washing into storm drains.

"Let’s all do our part to keep our stormwater clean and our neighborhoods looking great!"
