The Fort Thomas School District has extended its congratulations to Highlands High School for its achievement at the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Competitive Cheer & Dance competition.
According to the school district, the Bluebirds made program history by securing the state championship in both the Pom and Hip-Hop Large competitions. In the Pom & Jazz division, Highlands achieved first place with a score of 92.98, being one of only two teams to surpass a score of 90. Male High School finished in second place with a score of 92.20.
The Bluebirds also excelled in the Hip-Hop Large category, earning top honors with a score of 91.13, marking them as the only team to achieve a score in the 90s within that division. Assumption High School followed closely behind with a score of 88.80.
Additionally, Highlands secured third place overall in Competitive Cheer for Game Day Large Results with a score of 89.10.
