Beyond reading, 79% of students Highlands High School met the English college readiness benchmarks in the 2022-23 school year. Additionally, 74% were considered college-ready in math.
Highlands High School is the only school located in Fort Thomas Independent School District.
In 2024, Kentucky ranked third among states testing 100% of their students on the ACT, with an average score of 18.6. However, NAEP scores indicate that Kentucky students have performed slightly worse in core subjects since 2019, particularly in math, where proficiency has dropped by nearly 10%.
