Matthew Kremer, City Administrative Officer | City of Fort Thomas

The Kentucky Symphony Orchestra’s Newport Ragtime Band will perform at the Tower Park Amphitheater in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, on Sunday, August 3. The event, titled "Blues’ Muse," will run from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and aims to highlight the origins of American popular music by featuring genres such as ragtime, blues, and early jazz from the years 1898 to 1936.

According to organizers, the concert will explore the evolution of America’s pop music history, tracing its roots from spirituals through to music associated with Betty Boop. Attendees can expect an interactive experience that encourages clapping, singing, and chair dancing along with the authentic sounds of this musical era.

Admission to the concert is free; however, contributions are encouraged. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream option will be available.

Organizers have noted that pets are not permitted at the event.
