The Fort Thomas Recreation Department has opened registration for its annual Turkey Trot 5k, scheduled for Thursday, November 27 at 7:30 a.m. The event is designed as a community fun run to start Thanksgiving Day.

"This is a FUN RUN to kick off your Thanksgiving. There will be no timing chips, no medals, and we will be using the sidewalks!" according to the department.

This year, participants who register will receive a long sleeve event shirt as part of their $15 registration fee. Registration must be completed by Thursday, November 20 at noon. Those interested in participating are required to create an account on the Sportsman registration platform before signing up themselves or family members.

The race route begins at the Mess Hall, proceeds to Highlands High School, and returns to the starting point. Shirt pickup starts at 6:45 a.m., with participants asked to meet at the Mess Hall by 7:00 a.m. Strollers are allowed, but dogs are not permitted.

"Our goal for this relaxed run/walk, is to meet as a community of friends and kick off the Holiday together!" stated organizers.

For additional information or questions about registration, participants can contact Katie at KOckerman@ftthomas.org.
