The Fort Thomas Fire Department has announced the arrival of a new ladder truck, which will serve as a key vehicle in its emergency response fleet. The new apparatus replaces both a 25-year-old ladder truck and a 32-year-old pumper truck, combining their functions into one modern vehicle.
According to the department, "We’re proud to announce the arrival of our new ladder truck, the latest addition to our fleet and a major step forward in the service we provide to our community. This new apparatus replaces our previous ladder truck (25 years old) and our aging pumper truck (32 years old), bringing modern technology and enhanced safety features to the front line. The truck was designed to combine two functions into one."
The department noted that this new truck will be used as its first-out apparatus for all fire emergencies and first-response medical calls. In preparation for its use, firefighters will undergo several weeks of training on the upgraded capabilities and safety systems.
The public is invited to visit the station to view the new ladder truck. As stated by the department, "Want to check it out? We’d love to show it off! Stop by the station anytime to get a closer look at the new truck and say hello to your firefighters."
